We're calling it BAKE YOUR HEART OUT BOOK TOUR 2018 since the book is about love and leaven. It comes out February 14th and we're kicking off the first leg of the tour by retracing our steps starting in my home state of Maine next to the women who first showed me how to slice a bagel at a bakery counter. I'll be doing a little teaching here and there and stopping by lots of friend's places to eat pizza. Join me as we lift our glasses to life's great and simple joys.

Anyone who has tried making an apple pie knows that it’s not actually that easy! Come spend the afternoon with us and learn some tips for working with local flour, properly rolling a crust and the best way to prepare your filing. Once our pies are assembled we’ll spend time crafting unique and artful designs on the top crust. As the pies bubble and bake in the oven we will enjoy snacks, a cocktail and hold a Pie FAQ. Expect to walk away with a delicious pie and a few new friends. Tickets required.

Join us for an evening of pizza, drinks and books as we celebrate Tara Jensen's first book: A Baker's Year. Blair and Andrew from Elmore Mountain Bread and New American Stone Mills will kindly open the doors to the bakery from 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday, February 18th. Jensen will be stopping by as she retraces her baking roots through New England with books and goods in tow. Hear her do a brief reading and participate in a sourdough starter FAQ. Join us at Red Hen Bakery and Cafe on Monday, February 19th from 6 to 8 P.M. as baker/author Tara Jensen celebrates the release of her first book: A Baker's Year.  Red Hen Bakery was the first bakery Jensen ever made bread at and she is excited to retrace her steps in bread and friendship. Home again home again jiggity jig! Friends and family let's close the first leg of our book tour in style: standing in the bakery yard with pizza in hand! Typical pizza night style: bring a blanket, a lawn chair and your own beverages. We'll have a limited amount of dough so as always, first come first serve. If the weather permits we'll have a campfire going. This event is rain/snow or sunshine so dress to be outside in whatever mother nature serves up. Pizza will be between 10 & 15 bucks and we'll have signed copies of the book and limited edition book tour shirts, pencils, patches and bags for sale. Free and open to the public.
